Hey can anyone explain this to me. I have a 2002 yaris that doesn't start. When I put the key into the ignition the only lights I get are the Abs and P/S and the oil, but after a bit the abs and p/s turn off and l cant hear the fuel pump priming but i tested it and it does work.

Check all the  fuses.

Check the Battery voltage.

Check all Battery connections are properly tightened.

All the fuses are good, the Battery is new and I checked the volts and its 12.50+. The Battery connections are tight. Idk what else to do.

Did you check the Battery earth cables at the body connections?

It sounds like you have a faulty earth with resistance changing with current flow..

Sounds like dead fuel pump... you should get a warning code - low fuel pressure.

FPR if there is no pressure at the rail or no fuel in the tank

There is fuel in the tank. Also if it isnt priming wont it have no pressure to begin with?

So i found the issue and it was a hidden broken fuse

Glad you solved the problem.  Please tell us which fuse!

You need to find out why the fuse blew too. They usually blow for a reason. Too much current above the fuse's rated capacity could well be a short or intermittent short.

Can't think of any "hidden" fuses on a Yaris. As Hugh asks, it could be useful to others if you identify which one it is and where it is.
