Auris stationary running

Hi Guys,

Just purchased a 2015/16 petrol/electric model and love it. There’s just one thing I am wondering about.
Obviously the engine stops each time the car stops which is great for fuel saving. But - what about in mid winter when stopped for any length of time? Maybe in long traffic queues where to keep warm the engine needs to be on? There doesn’t seem to be a way to keep it running when stationary.

Any ideas please?

Many thanks

As well as Ian's answer above, the car apparently has four warm up phases, and will manage the start/stop of the petrol engine so that it does not need to return to to the S1 phase when the car is in  'ready'.

As you probably know, the drivetrain in the Auris is virtually identical to a Prius gen 3 (2009-2016, and also any Lexus CT200h and Prius+).  This Prius link details the warm up phases from a cold start, your Auris should be exactly the same.
