Roll the windows up, or turn the radio on.

It has no effect on the braking power, eventually it might go away.

Mine (Bosch) were also squeaking, but stopped, i did not even notice when. They only squeaked during light braking, one you would apply for a gentle stop at a light.

Also, update your profile with car model, year and engine.

My brake squeal went away when I took the caliper slide pins back out, cleaned up inside the holes, recleaned the pins, greased them again and reassembled. 'Twas my own fault for not cleaning properly in the first place.

?What is the make of Pads and Discs that you have had fitted. Some makes are more prone to squealing due to the brake compound hardness on  the pads.

Make sure you use Silicon grease for brake pin bolt.  Sometime the pinbolt is corroded and no more lube and cause the brake to make uneven contact. Just, check them, open calipers, clean the pin bolts and relube it.  lubing the back of the shim-pads and contact of pads with calipers and piston may solve the problems of squealing.
