Well im utterly confused. Just been looking at my Vauxhall wage slips from my year out (tax year 03-04) and i was only charged about 80 a month in NI

Yet 11% of my monthly take home at VX would have been £128.33

hope ya dont mind me asking but what was your gross amount and ill see why!

and also it may say thats by month but it actually comes down to the amount in the year!

My Gross amount at Vauxhall was £14000

Gross Monthly was £1166

According to the 11% of monthly gross rule, my NI should have been 128.26£, but i was being deducted £65-£70 ish

It confuses me because it contridicts what i spent a month going through with the inland revenue!

i dont totally know bud,im more accounts then tax and NI but even if they took tax off first it would still be 98 quid!
