Hello

I have just bought a 2005 Previa with 150k on the clock.

The previous owner used synthetic oil, but due to cost I was wondering if i could get away with semi synthetic oil?

thanks a lot

Bob

Probably 5W-30 to API SL, SM or SN spec.

You can get synthetic in a range of prices from £15 (5 litres) upwards - eg Mannol which is a German brand, for £15.99:

Toyota engines are superb. They last a very long time if looked after. I’d stick with synthetic oil.

Hello Neil,

Another year, another service! Well done on keeping your Estima in tip top condition.

Unfortunately, I had to get rid of mine last as the family continued to grow which meant camping trips and family visits were a very tight squeeze with luggage included - despite the Estima’s cavernous boot! I still hang in here and on other forums though (trolling mostly!) I see this as a positive thing. I’ve been able to help other owners out like I too was helped many years ago when I owned a Mk1.

Hi Paul....yep...4 years now...how time flies.

That's a shame...but totally understand...sometimes things change and you just gotta change with them.

I think are quite a few out there that have benefitted from your experience and knowledge, Paul.

Who knows...you may return to the fold in years to come.

Good luck...and keep trolling...lol
