Auris Hybrid 12v Battery

Hi,

I have read about the small 12v Battery on hybrids loosing charge if left for longish periods.

Is there any reason i should not use a solar trickle charger connected to this Battery to keep it in condition if left, ie when away/abroad?

as the solar panel can take power from the Battery when its too dark to charge the Battery and discharge it.
