Hi can anyone give me some information on the rav 4 diesel, did they have any problems with the engine's like the avensis from 06 to 09 had the head gasket problems thanks for any help

Yes - some of the Avensis, Auris, Rav4 and Verso were affected. See the following old topic:

All affected vehicles are now well outside the goodwill help that Toyota offered.

Since there are many more Lexus's using this engine than there are Toyotas, I have found the Lexus forums a very good place to find out about this engine.
