Hi,

New to this, so be gentle. Have an Avensis 2012 estate and just got a warning light come up on the dash. Not sure what it is for as the manual states no such light in the book.

Have asked about and got it needs to go on a diagnostic machine. They stated it was a hill descent warning light, and it had failed. Having never used the electronic brake to that extent, I am unsure what this means. Old school Land Rover type here, only ever driven things with braking by wire.

Had this one a fair while now and very impressed with the touring and long haul runs. not so good on short runs though, seems to be lagging in the Battery dept.

One thing it has going for it and that is the load space. Can you load it up and go  places. Put a Roof Rack on her and still she pulls away to Yorkshire and back.

Doesn't it use/need the ABS to function.?..so maybe an ABS issue.?

It's not a fault, it just means you've got the automatic parking brake feature turned off. This video shows how to switch it on or off.
