Exhaust gas coming from injector number two

Hey all

New dude here. Names Lee and I have a problem with my avensis. I have exhaust gasses leaking from number two injector, well I think it's number two. It's the second one in from the off side of the car. Thought it was the manifold gasket but I've just changed that and the problems still there. My question is can you replace seals on the injector and if so is it an easy job(well anything is easier than doing manifold gasket).

There are washers, do you know which engine:

2003-2006 2.0 d4d 1CD with timing belt

2006> 2.0 d4d 1AD with timing chain

2005> 2.2 d4d 2AD

No. 1 cylinder is the chain/belt end - 4 is flywheel/gearbox

If the injectors have never been out you may have a fight on your hands, If you mix up water with a drop of washing up liquid in a spray bottle, Spray the area while someone cranks the engine any leaks will either bubble up or blow the water away

It's the 2.2 d4d.

I replaced an injector seal in my Lexus IS 220D with the 2.2 litre Diesel lump.

There is a write up somewhere. Here it is:

This is the guide I used. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/tutorials/article/253-injector-seal-replacement-is220d/

I just replaced the perished O ring as well broken and couldn't get the copper washer out as it's around 9 inches down. Once done, silence returned and no diesel smell. Took me 40 minutes.

The car symptoms were a diesel smell in the cabin and the engine noisier than normal and making a fut fut noise audible from outside the car, from under the engine cover. You could also see vaporised diesel leaking out around the injector. Do not get your hands near as under pressure.

My injector came out easily with lifting up with a screwdriver and wiggling and pulling up with some water pump pliers.

Not long after I scrapped it as head gasket went!

James.

Ok if it is a:

Standard 2.2 2ADFTV the injectors are inside the rocker cover so you will need the injector tip seal, 'O' ring, rocker cover gasket and injector pipe seals

96721-19017 x4 'O' ring

11176-26010 x4 Tip washer

90904-30008  x4 return pipe banjo seal

23681-17010 x4  Injector pipe seal

11213-0R010 x1 Outer rocker cover gasket

11214-26010 x1 Inner rocker cover gasket

T180 2.2 2ADHTV the injectors are external to the rocker cover and will only need injector tip seals and 'O' rings

96721-19017 x4 'O' ring

11176-26010 x4 Tip washer

90904-30008  x5 return pipe banjo seal

Sorted the leaking gas from the injector. Replaced a seal on it and sorted. Now, does anyone on here have a diagram of the vac pipe set up for the dpf? I think I've got a couple of them wrong as it's now going into limp home mode every five farts.
