2009 Aygo Blue - high mileage advice?

Hi! Welcome to my second post 😂

As title really - I have inherited an Aygo with 120k on the clock. This seems a lot of miles for a sewing machine engine.

Despite this, it has never really gone wrong other than service items. The car runs like it was new and the suspension etc are all good.

I have searched the forum and web but I've not found what I need.

I'm hoping for some advice on higher mileage Mk1 Aygos - what should I look out for? I can do a decent amount of work on it myself if needed.

For example: Is it worth doing more frequent oil changes and what viscosity is best for an older engine?

Any help or advice is really appreciated! If I have posted in the wrong section then I'm sorry 😀

Hello,

I would be careful about the following parts:
- Clutch, I am surprised it has been not been replaced already
- Watertightness, especially in the trunk
- Leaks on the water pump
- Rust on the exhaust pipe
- The warning button might crack ^^

Water pump and check the radiator too. Ours was shot. At east a yearly oil change us recommended.  It has a timing chain so if that's not rattling then all good.

All of this.

They are incredibly rugged cars considering the price point they have/had. Engines are good, can be a little chatty if not had an oil change.

The clutch though is probably due another change if it's got to 120,000 miles. Mine only lasted to 60,000 miles which seems standard these days.
