Screen/ monitor not working

I've 2013 1.6 petrol and the entertainment screen has suddenly went black, faded. Reverse camera is extremely faded too and can barely see radio controls.

Anyone had similar or know the fault

I'm guessing the failure is with the illumination light (backlight). If you say the display works, but it's really dark, it should be it. Basically, the screen is like that by default, it just has really strong lights, usually on left or right side of the screen, that illuminate it, for you to see. 

This is pretty common fault at newer tv's, as the led's used there lack proper heat dissipation, are usually set too bright, and burn out.

Considering the age of the car, you should probably have  CCFL backlight, it's like tiny florescent tube. A straight swap usually works.

Thanks fortula. Is that fluorescent easily changed or do you mean to replace the unit.
