Regulator harness - which wire goes where?

Hi everyone,

new on the forum. To be honest I signed up specifically for finding some info on voltage regulator wiring in my car (2001 Corolla 1.6).

So I had a workshop install a new alternator for me last year and the other day the Battery indicator light turned on. After having watched a bunch of walktroughs on youtube and making some real use of my multimeter, I'm fairly certain that I've isolated the problem to the alternator itself, save for one thing: the regulator harness. I suspect that they might be hooked up the wrong way. First, the Battery, which was new a year ago, has never charged properly in the car, this while also passing my tests with the multimeter. Secondly, the workshop is ****. They installed this alternator while charging me for a more expensive one. They are not forthcoming with my warranty claims - but that's another story. It may very well be the alternator that's bad but I just wanna make sure before turning it in (again).

As per the first image, the pigitail is wired like this:

1. White

2. Brown or blue/red

3.

4. Yellow

The alternator (a AS-PL A0256) is set up like this (see second image):

1. S

2. IG

3. DFM/M

4. L

Can anyone help me determine if the harness is wired correctly or not?

Many thanks!

/K

Many thanks! If I, at the time it broke, would've been able to take the car to my workshop of choice, they would've allowed me to install a refurbished original. I would've preferred that to say the least.
