Yaris T Sport MK1 Short shifter - opinions on Hypersport HS-0001?

Hi guys,

Any opinions on Hypersport HS-0001 short-shifter?

https://hyper-sport.co.uk/toyota-yaris-starlet-hs-0001-short-shifter

There is an install video here:

As opposed to the other kits on the market, this one installs where the gear linkage meets the gearbox, not in the gear stick area and it seems to shorten the throw, while keeping the spacing between "gates" stock.

Any cons about this approach?

Thanks!

I fitted 1 to my GT turbo starlet, it was great for about a month, really did shorten the throw, I'd say 40%

Then it started (Mod edit - bypass of swear filter removed) and wouldn't select 1st gear and I had to destroy it to get it off  🙂

Not a fan. in my opinion it's too short and puts too much stress on the cables.
Best to get a short shifter that sits inside the car.

Cosmic racing or Ralco RZ for example.

There had to be a reason for the lack of popularity 😄

Thanks, guys!

I am looking to get one sorted for my Yaris road rally car.

And as I am new to the Toyota world, I am looking to you guys for spiritual guidance.
