Yaris Multimedia Radio

Hello .

Somebody experience with removing the multimedia radio in a yaris for another one ?

I have plans for installing the TSA 500 ( compatible for Apple carplay ) in my car ( if I can get one for a reasonable price 🙂

Or one of the aftermarkets  , but which one ?

Question one , is it easy to remove the radio and the front panel ?

Has somebody bought already the TAS500 ? do you know the reverence nr ?

it's not that complex pop the dash pad off with a trim tool unclip the trim remove the screws

I posted the info in the other thread

So how come the latter mk3 Yaris isn’t compatible with Apple CarPlay?

Our 2020 Y20 doesn’t have it[emoji22]

Hello Dave .

You have to go to your Toyota dealer !

The Multimedia in the new yaris 2020 is compatible with Apple Carplay , Or should !! 

When you have a radio like this on the screen in Previous message ,  that's the right one for Apple carplay .

When it is like the picture here in this message , the you have troubles , it is not compatible for carplay !

That's my problem as well 😞

There is no carplay on the touch2 and i doubt Toyota will bother with an upgrade for the Mk3 even tho the hardware is capable of it, the draw back of the Tas500 is the lack of support for the hybrid and heater control display - The reverse camera is another issue as it doesn't detect the reverse signal from the Can Bus in fact the adapter harness removes the can bus High and Low

It will be more cost-effective to fit an aftermarket stereo

That's my problem as well [emoji20]

Your photo shows exactly how ours is. Like you we have a phone mount in the centre vent, with the phone connected to the USB connection it will provide verbal instructions through the audio system as long as we are listening to music from the phone. This is okay but I would rather have the map on the radio screen and not have the phone mount.

Looks like we will have to stick with what we have.

Yes Flash 22 , that's was exact the answer of my toyota dealer as well , he couldn't give guarantee that the reverse camera should work by installing the TAS500 😟

So 1400 € for a new multimedia , but no guarantee that it is working like it has to be is to much .

Anyway , I'm going to search for an aftermarket Radio , compatible with carplay !

Any suggestions of a good one ?

Pioneer and Alpine are both good makes start around 300 euros plus the facia adapter, steering wheel control interface, aerial adapter and camera retention adapter
