This is rumoured to be for Europe, and could be part of the Toyota/Mazda collaboration partnership currently looking at EV's.

Mazda have already used Toyota's hybrid system in their 3 hybrid.

The US Mazda 2 based Yaris is being discontinued from the end of 2020 - leaving Toyota's smallest US offering as the Corolla.
