Doors open light on dashboard stays on even when all doors are shut

Hello

I have a 2004 Corolla and the above happens.  Spoke to a Toyota dealer and they said that they had never heard of this happening.

They were not sure how much to fix but would cost £60 for diagnostic test.

They did not think that it would do any damage or affect the Battery.

Has anyone else come across this.

You can check all doors has small black plastic button covered with rubber boot, check all of those included boot and petrol flap are properly seated and if all goes easily in when you push them . This is probably where the problem comes from.

Can see them on the doors but not on the boot.

Any idea where it might be ?

it's usually the driver's door that gives up, iirc the boot one is part of the lock or there are metal contact on the tailgate
