Mirror switch

Just pondering why the Mirror switch on the Yaris isn't illuminated, now the switch looks identical to the one in the Auris

I had a look at my one in the car, and it's the same 28 pin (folding mirrors) as the Auris, so i looked up the pin outs

And the plug (terminal side)

The Yaris switch isn't wired for illumination, but the headlight levelling switch beside it is

So i have some spare terminals/reclaimed wiring (0.64 II terminals), The question is, does it just need the 2 extra terminals for the illumination to work ?

So the conclusion...........................

The Auris and Yaris switches look identical but the Yaris one does not have the LED's or resistors on the PCB

2 terminals (pigtails) and the Mk2 Auris switch was all that was needed

My 2015 auris wasn’t illuminated wish I had know that then while we are on the subject annoyingly  the central locking switch and the power fold mirror switch on the corolla isn’t illuminated either.

If the locking button is in the window switch - there is a swap for the corolla - like any manufacturer there are parts shared across the whole range

Mirror switches - there are a number of variations it all depends on the plug type on the back

edit. ah, it was the Rav4, but it uses common parts (see rav4ster's post)
