Power steering ABS VSC

Hi, I’ve recently had my power steering rack replaced my local mechanic. I’m now having Battery trouble, PS light on every time I start car still. With the addition of ABS and VSC warning lights coming on. And advice please. Is this a coincidence or is it all to do with the PS being replaced. Thank you.

If these lights coming on are all new issues that did not happen before the rack was replaced then yes, it is all most likely related to the replacement of the rack rather than a coincidence. I don't know whether this applies to the RAV4 but I think the alignment of the rack (such as correct wheels straight ahead position) might have to be recalibrated to the cars ECU (its engine management system).

(the lights coming on do not normally indicate Battery trouble... they indicate other issues)

Read the fault codes.  I recommend Toyota Techstream.

Thank you. I’m guessing this is something my mechanic can hopefully do, as unfortunately, I have no clue.

You are going to need to see your mechanic then over this, its not something you can fix yourself unfortunately. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
