Smelly Brakes...

ok.. the other day there I went for a drive around the country roads and was seriously braking hard etc at all corners.

Gave my brakes a right good hammering.

Then after I had calmed down a bit I smelt something smelly. Only thing I could think of was brakes as clutch is fine etc.

Is it possible the brakes were smelling because I was killing them ? What would be smelling exactly? The pads??

If your brakes smell from killing them is that bad??...

I was gonna get some Supra brakes etc slapped on my car, but the garage said I might find it quite hard finding them and in the end could cost me as much as a big brake conversion would!

Personally i think jimlad drove over a cow pat , and the heat from the breaks made the smell <_<

2K for a pheonix power front brake kit.... quite expensive... maybe in a few months or so.

Running the amount of power you do over stock, it would make sense to upgrade the brakes, even if just to fast road pads and disks.

Lots of discussion as to which are best...
