Michelin Pilot or Michelin Cross Climate for all year round use.

Michelin would be my first choice. Agree with John.

Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 or Vector 4 season 2 as alternative to Michelin. But both makes one of the best tyres available these days. 👍

I have just had four Michelin Cross Climate tyres fitted to my Gen 4, I’m sure the ride has improved.

My Toyota dealer had a brilliant deal on for the tyres that were the original fit on my Prius with 15" wheels - Toyo  at £50 inc vat, fitting, new valve, disposal. Ideal for my usage and a bargain price.  For tyres I think the Toyota dealer is worth getting a quote from.

Another vote for Michelin CrossClimates. Transformed my Gen 4 - much quieter, more comfortable and superb grip in damp and frosty conditions. They really showed the OE tyres (Toyo) up for what they are - budget rubbish, glad to get rid, shame they lasted almost 30,000 miles.

Toyo are usually good tyres , however I found some smaller sizes tend to get hard as plastic after some time, a year or 5000 miles and they become noisy and not as grippy in wet conditions. The larger size Toyo R41 seems well balanced, been using them on one of ours and they are good. I had many Priuses before with few different brands tyres and when new they all seemed good but the one that keeps their properties till almost illegal were Goodyear and Michelin that’s why I recommend them as first choice, otherwise Nexen, Kumho, Hankook, Yokohama, Toyo, Bridgestone they are all good one. Only avoid the cheap unknown makes with negative reviews as usually bad reviews are always true. 👍

I had Michelin on my gen3 Prius then moved to Nokian all weather.  Both are fine but the Nokian are not easy to get.

When tyres are new most of the time they are better than the old ones, what is important though is to have the right tyres fitted for the season as this is the biggest difference between safe, comfortable driving and dangerous. Watching all climate changes in the last 10 years or so there is no better choice of tyres for any car in Uk than the all season tyres, as you can have balmy December and icy April, then super hot June  and July. Many people are saying that doesn’t need all season or winter tyres as they been ok with what they got on the cars fitted but they are wrong and here it is why:

Back in time 20 -30 years ago and more all car tyres were not as highly specialised to work in certain conditions, most of the car tyres that were called summer or oem were actually kind of all season and their thread pattern was capable to get you going through some mild winter conditions , however recently the standard summer tyres looks bold with only water drain canals similar to airplanes tyres, those are great for dry, wet and fuel efficiency, low rolling resistance tyres., low noise etc. These tyres used in cold months with even slight amount of snow or ice makes the car uncontrollable and leads to funny and dangerous situations. , and so many car owners blame the car for been not capable and how their old escorts and corsas were much better in snow., well it’s the tyres , not the cars.

I have dedicated summer and winter tyres but once they are worn down I am very likely to switch to all seasons too. Michelin or Goodyear. 👍

I agree with you!

I had Toyo Proxes CF2 fitted to my Gen 4 last summer and they are noisy.  The Toyota dealer was supposed to fit Toyo Nanoenergy tires but for various reasons they fitted the Proxes.  I am sure that the original fitment Nanoenergy tyres were quieter.
