Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve

Dear Forum, I've had my mechanic go over my car (05 reg Corolla 1.4 D4D) in detail to discover the cause of engine warning light with code P1272: fuel pressure regulator circuit malfunction. He said it needs a new fuel pressure regulator valve in the engine bay to get rid of the warning light, but that I can keep driving away as it'll cause no problems. Would anyone have any comment on this? Thanks for any information
