Locked IQ With Flat Battery and Broken Lock

Hi. I sold my IQ to a friend last year and he now has a flat Battery from the car standing idle for a few months. Unfortunately the back-up key is just turning in the lock on the drivers door (I suspect the linkage to the lock has detatched), so how does he get in?

Short of breaking a window, I was wondering if anyone knew of how to open the bonnet from outside/underneath? I did suggest the RAC, but they won't come out because it has no MOT (the reason he was trying to get it going).

Any help appreciated.

Is there a lock on the passenger side ? you say the lock is turning, is it turning 360º ? have you tried the spare key ? Has the lock been sprayed with lube ?? (lock fill up with dirt and crud from the lack of use)

Failing that call a mobile locksmith, they should be able to get it open quickly, it will be cheaper and less messy than a broken window

Is there a lock on the rear Hatch ?

Tell him read the Handbook again once he gains access !
