Seeking windscreen rubber for 1976 HiAce.

My van is leaking dreadfully around the windscreen. My local windscreen chap cannot find a replacement rubber, the official Toyota eBay account can't find my van listed and the local Toyota dealer won't even answer my emails.
One option that the local chap suggested is to glue it in, like they do in modern cars, but I am a bit wary of doing that, although I cannot think of a reason to be.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
