Daihatsu Sirion Cabin Air Filter

Hello,

I would like to buy a cabin air filter for my 2006 Daihatsu Sirion because it did not come with one when I bought it used.
Doing some research I found out that my car is the same with Toyota Passo and Subaru Justy and I have indeed bought Toyota parts and they are 100% compatible.

All the local shops tell me that the Daihatsu Sirion does not have a cabin filter but I have taken apart the glove compartment and there is indeed a place to install one
Same as here :

The part number is 17801-87333 or 88568-B1010 but I was not able to locate a seller in Europe. Do you guys know an online shop to find such a cabin filter

Thank you

Chris

The Perodua Myvi was a Malaysian built version of the Daihatsu Boon (Sirion in Europe; rebadged as the Subaru Justy and Toyota Passo) and was exported to the UK til 2013. So you could also have a look for this model when sourcing a cabin air filter.

E-mail: perodua@peroduauk.com

I've done a search on the mann filters online catalogue, and the cabin air filter for the Sirion/Myvi 1.0 and 1.3 has a part number CUK1611.

Update:

I can't seem to be able to open the compartment to insert the cabin filter inside. It seems a bit different from what I have seen on YouTube like its not meant to open. I have not done it before on this car so I can be mistaken.

Could it be that my car does not have a cabin filter ?

I took some photos of what is behind the glove compartment. The box that is supposed to accept the filter is different from what I have seen on YouTube.
On YT the door of the enclosure is black and seem to open from the right while mine is white does not seem to open.

There is a video here that suggests I cut a hole into the white compartment and then install a black door that I don't have, does this seem logical ?

In my earlier post I gave the e-mail address for Perodua UK, so you could try e-mailing them, or Aftersales Support at https://www.daihatsu.co.uk

Thank you, do you think it makes sense to CUT the plastic, is think standard practice ? Do you have to cut away plastic on other cars as well ?

Hi there! What happened? Having the same issue - white plastic box that doesn’t seem to open… The guys from the service told me that the car comes without one… But they were able to buy one and showed me the part…

You can buy the filter with the plastic cover in the UK/Europe from Onlinecarparts or whichever version of Autodoc is in your country. I bought KAVO PARTS DC-7001 Pollen filter
