Hello,

My Yaris hatchback Ascent has done 50,000 kms on the clock and recently serviced to be told the water pump is leaking and needs replacing. The part is $500 plus labour.

Can someone please advise if the part would be faulty or other potential causes associated.

As far as i can work out it's either a 1.3 or 1.5 - pattern parts down under seem very expensive nearly $300 AUD (about £140-150) Retail - genuine parts from Japan or the UAE $140-160 AUD delivered plus any duty on top

I have had no joy with that VIN but the AU NCP130 1.3 and 1.5 hatch use the same water pump

1.3 - 2NZFE

Toyota Part number

16100-29157 Superseded by  16100-29158

I worked out the Frame number from the info the OP gave me (AU vin)

It's a JTD vin (NCP130- Frame No.) so Jap built for the AU market
