Regarding locking the car

I rarely use the key fob for locking/unlocking the car, but using the sensors in the door handle.  The other day when locking up, I inadvertently touched the sensor twice, and I heard an audible click/clunk.  Could you tell me what that was please?

Also, I had a "click and collect" at Screwfix recently, but I had the dog with me.  I locked the car as usual but shortly afterwards the alarm went off.  I assume the internal sensors detected the dog.  Is it possible to disable the internal sensors should I have to do that again please?  TIA.

Think the internal sensors can be enabled/disabled via a button by the interior map lights.

Hi,

yes you can do that while pressing on the button located near the front interior lights, remember every time you need to deactivate the interior sensors you will need to press on again before you leave and lock the car. 👍

If you touch the sensor twice within 5 seconds it activates a double lock, more secure. It’s probably covered in the car owners manual, it is for our 2010 Auris.
There is a safety warning. Never double lock the doors when people in the car..... they will not be able to open the doors.
