Hi all,
I have had a Fr RH Drive Shaft failure on a 2020 C-HR Hybrid 2LT EXCEL with only 4000miles + (shaft broke in two in the middle) has any body else had a similar problems please let me know,
also i found on-line an alert recall through out the EU dated 23/10/2020 of which the UK was still a member yet to this date the UK has not issued any recall, my wife was driving the car when the drive shaft broke she nearly had an accident due to the failure and was very shaken and now totally refusing to drive the C-HR.

Take a look at the Rapex Alert 43/2020. RecallNotice code: 20SMD-051

Regards
Kel

The UK left the EU on 31st January 2020.

The EU recall is as follows: https://car-recalls.eu/recall/toyota-c-hr-hybrid-2020-axle-shafts/  and affected cars were produced over a 2.5 week period in January 2020.

As regards UK recalls if you think your incident may be safety related, you can report it as a safety concern to DVSA - https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-faults/report-a-serious-safety-defect

Owners can also use Toyota's recall checker to see whether their car has any current recalls - https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/vehicle-information/recall-checker#:~:text=In the UK%2C this recall involves 9%2C250 Toyota, models produced between February 2014 and November 2018.

The DVSA  will not list it as it's a very short production issue - toyota should have a TSB

Have you checked your vin is within the range affected ?
