In pandemic due to lack of use my car Battery ran down. Managed to open the drivers door with the key but boot and rest of doors locked. Completely stuffed - cant get to the Battery in the boot to charge it. Any suggestionms to getting this car going? Understand there is a emergency way to open the boot - inside the boot!!

Hi, you can jump start your car using points located under bonnet  in the fuse box. Once you do that you will have power to open normally rear hatch and replace your 12v Battery. There are many posts about this issue as it’s common and also videos in YouTube, you can search for Prius instead as it’s been longer on the market and there is more information., these are pretty much same cars.
Good luck

Tony got on this one first!

There is a jump lead attachment point inside the under-bonnet fuse box.  If it is like the Auris, then this will be on the passenger side of the under-bonnet area.  The jump lead point is under a red flip-top plastic lid, that is itself under the fuse box cover.  A map of the fuse box is under the fuse box lid.

This will all be in the manual.  Use any shiny and substantial part of the engine as a negative, black, ground (-) connection, or better, one of the large suspension nuts that are just beyond the fuse box.

Note that the fuse box attachment point is only metal on one side of the 'blade' that is provided.  Jump leads are often similarly one-sided with only one half of the pair of jaws live, so it is possible to attach and still have no proper connection.

Depends on what engine you have:

1.8 has a 12v Battery in the engine bay, this will need charging.

2.0 has a 12v Battery under the boot floor, this has a 12v connection point ( as you look at engine, fuse/relay box back RH corner open cover thee will be a square red cover flip this back and connect + 12v, connect - 12v to an exposed metal point such as top strut nut or bracket on front of engine.) this will give you power to unlock and open the boot then charge the Battery directly ( it will not charge via the front connections) .
