trip meter range reading won't reset

Hi all, got a 2012 corolla ascent sport, been good but now for some reason when I fill the car up , the fuel gauge shows full, but the distance to empty display on the trip meter doesn't reset. It currently shows 85km to empty although it was filled up yesterday and the fuel gauge shows near full. I have reset all the other functions on the trip meter, but this doesn't seem to be playing the game. Any thoughts?
