  • FROSTYBALLS changed the title to Hub & bearing KSP 130L

And rather than pay Toyota's exorbitant price for a pure platinum part, it must be for well over £200 each, buy a perfectly good and quality equivalent. e.g. Blueprint (Bilstein Group) ADT38387. Other makes available!

42450-0D050 is an old part number is has been replaced by 42450-0D051

So I can replace 42450-0D051 with 42450-0D050 in my Yaris without any problem ?

BluePrint or SKF both around the £100 mark

you get, what you pay for

You most certainly don't with Toyota's hub assemblies at 30k miles life expectancy. SKF are a perfectly reputable company with quality standards even if manufactured elsewhere.

"SKF opened its first UK sales office in London during 1910, and the following year bearing production commenced in Luton, at its first manufacturing facility outside of Sweden. Over the years business has grown organically as well as via a number of strategic acquisitions.

Today, SKF (U.K.) Limited has some 13 locations throughout the UK, including ten manufacturing facilities (four, rolling bearings and six, machined seals), with approximately 1,250 employees."

I can't edit the above?

I opened up the failed hub bearing, I replaced, there was nothing revealing the make of the bearing and I can't find any information as to who supplies Toyota with their hub assemblies, Toyota declined to tell me, I asked via e-mail. They will most definitely be outsourced - maybe SKF, !Removed!, etc. then a 100%+ mark up?

And the stupid profanity filter has removed a well known bearing manufacturer's ( F  A  G) name, ridiculous! That's slang for a cigarette.

I doubt it would be SKF, F A G is also a shortened term for a "bundle of sticks" - Matsu****a (Panasonic) is another one the filter doesn't like, not sure if it likes S****horpe either (that place in north Lincolnshire)

You only get 1 hour to edit a post.

But isn’t it also slang for something else, and you were not talking about cigarettes anyway.

I know, about bearings of which that is a well respected manufacturer and as such should not be filtered out.

Do you know who Toyota source them from?

I don't know the oem, like most industries its made by an approved supplier by the lowest bidder

I take it you had a 4-wheel alignment done on the car to rule out any other issues
