Aygo Vin sticker recall

I had my car in for service at local dealer last week. They left a note saying it will be needed in for a VIN sticker recall. They phoned me this morning and said when can it be booked in. I said could it be done if I leave it with them  and I shop in town while it's done but they said no they would need it a couple of days. I can't be without my car that long. Last week I cycled to work in the rain when it was being serviced. Is it life and death getting this done.

Louise, demand a replacement.  BMW had a mega recall last year across the ranges.  If you could leave your car that was fine, if not you had to wait until a loan car was available.

Thanks, I would be fine if was a couple of hours, but days I can't manage without my car. I will call them back sometime next week.

At the end of the day, whether a courtesy car is available depends on individual dealers. If a dealer is busy, one may have to wait for a courtesy car.

Having said that, I've checked the DVSA website and haven't found a recall for a VIN sticker. Recalls are only for safety related issues, so I doubt whether this is actually a recall - and if it was Toyota would have notified you by letter.

Get back to the dealer and say you will need to wait until a courtesy car is available.
