Was wondering did anyone have any thoughts on 6 pointed vs 12 pointed Axle Nuts. On my

E120 three Axle Nuts are 12 pointed and the one I'm working on atm is 6 pointed. Does anyone

know if the 12 pointed are from the factory on the E120 Corolla and if the 6 is easier to break open as they say ?

Cheers, Joe.

Only seen references to the 12 points, which are on our 2006 model.

This is the way I used to get the nut off after knocking the tab washer back.

Also used some scafold tube or similar on the wrench bar ( non ratchet type) to give more leverage.

Good advice👍, I can add one tip though., you can use a jack placed under the extension bar and then use a pipe or long breaker bar to undo the nut.

Good stuff ! Yes i managed to salvage a 3-4 foot piece of pipe been thrown away and its proving to be a very versatile tool no doubt !!! Thanks much appreciated.

Thanks Tony, yes this method seems like a bit of a life saver, critical enough to get things aligned to avoid slippage ..but once aligned and perhaps covered with an old blanket then the pressure of the jack should do it's work !
