Pops out of 3rd gear

Hi

I have an Avensis D4D 2004 T25 and yesterday on an extremely bumpy road it popped out of 3rd gear into neutral.
Anyone any ideas of what could be wrong , is it synch key , gears going or could it be gear selector shifter stick ?
