Gear gaiter

Tommy Aygo

Hi all, my son has bought himself a new gear gaiter for his 2011 Aygo. It's an aftermarket one and is faux leather. However, it doesn't seem to fit the current plastic frame that held the original one. Any ideas on how to fit it or should the new one have come with a new frame? I've taken a pic of the original frame.

You have to fit the new boot to the frame it's not easy as you need to work the vinyl/leatherette

iirc you have to remove the old staples first

@flash22 thanks for the reply. Once the staples are removed. What do you then use to stick the new gaiter with.  It also seems very stuff and not much give in it. Any tips?

Thanks again

Did this on our similar 107, as Flash says you need to work it. Like you at first it looked like it wouldn't fit, but be patient and it will go on. I removed and reused the original staples using a bradawl to make holes in the leather.

Update!

Only gone and broken the gear gaiter plastic frame along with the lugs that fix it into place. Any ideas where I can get a new one?🤦🤦🤦

Thanks all
