Not being very tech savy, am I right in saying the Corolla Hybrid does not use the starter motor everytime when moving from Battery to engine power? Is it the compression that restarts the engine?

Hope there is someone out there that can help,?

Power is applied to motor generator 1 (driven by the traction battery) to act as a starter. Because of the size of the motor generator, starting the engine is relatively fast and requires relatively little power. Engine start can occur while stopped or moving.

Thank you, looked up the motor generstor you mentioned and watched a Toyota video on the subject, so now much better informed. Thanks again.
