Looking to buy a manual Toyota Yaris. I’m a driving instructor so looking for something economical and a bit of power. Choices are 1.0, 1.33, 1.5. I do 3000 miles per month

The 1.5 replaced the 1.33 at the start of 2017. So the 1.5 would be your best choice in terms of economy and power. A hybrid would be out as that is automatic.

If you teach how to drive to totally unexperienced people I think that a less powerful car can be more useful.  So for this use I think that the 1.0 is better that the 1.5

You are right for that but in general the bigger engines has high miles capacity, if he plans to do more miles with the car as he is going to use it in the trade 1.5 is  probably the better option, plus will drive smoother and students will learn to operate the clutch easier where the 1.0 3 cylinder engines are little bit more tricky to manage, students will say that car is jerky, less likely to recommend to friends. 😉👌

It depends on the year, the gen 4 is only available as a hybrid as of 07/2020 onwards

As you are driving it all day look for a 1.5 manual - it all depends on your budget plus conversion costs
