Does a later yaris handbrake fit in a mk1, eg a 2015 in a 2002? Anything to watch out for if it does?

Thanks

A bit of an odd question, why do you want to change it, the mk3 one will be taller due to the centre console the ratio may also be different

Mainly aesthetic reasons as they do look nicer. Seems quite hard to remove the existing cover..

managed to remove the handbrake handle.  A couple of pics showing weapon of choice! I bought a spare to work on.  Just levered the base of the cover outwards, then clamped the foot of the handbrake in a vice and gently twisted the cover with the pipe wrench.  Took about 5 minutes as i didnt want to damage the cover.  Slid it off and then cleaned up the surface rust. Certainly easier than trying to remove it whilst fitted in the car.

New cover loosely fitted, just need the correct size collar at the front.  I'll then fit this and modify the leather gaiter as necessary in case it fouls.
