mods-you-wouldnt-do-again-offroad-overla

After over 68350 miles of international overlanding (110`000km) with the rig showed above, done in the past 9 years it is definitively time for an analytic view. Which mod wouldnt we do again, which mod would we install on a newly buildup? From a Transafrica to journeys in Europe, Iceland, South America I had a lot of different terrain to use those mods listened below.

My list of mods isn`t short:
- Snorkel ( +Higher various types of venting )
- Front bar
- winch
- Ground anchor
- Underride protection
- Differential locks
- Maxtrax sand plate / recovery
- Larger tires (33")
- Mudterrain tire tread (MT)
- only 1x spare tire with rim
- Spare tire carrier at the rear
- Air heater (air vs water heater I explain below)
- Additional fuel tank 180Liter
- Heat exchanger to the engine (hot shower)

Which mod was helpful? Which one was waste of money? Which one was really bad? And why?

I did wrote an Article about: https://vanlife.4x4tripping.com/2021/05/mods-i-wouldnt-do-again-for-overlanding.html

Here is the map of the journey till today:

Any cam footage of your trek? I love stuff like this

I was well disappointed the Fensport guys didn't record more footage of their trek from the Fens to Tokyo in a Mk1 Yaris

I guess you like to see Videos?

I was fully occupied with blogging any day and to upload pictures - there was no time left for doing vlogging. Those who are doing that, they are not travelling anymore - they are working - at least in my eyes. Yes they call it "full time traveller" - most of us would call the thing we do from early in the morning to the evening  "working". Yes, that is a profession - and some of those full time travellers did earn a lot of cash while travelling  working.

I`m full of respect for those, because it is a lot of work to record/cut/edit videos... And unlike to Blogwriters, you sell your face, you will get recognizable - the succesfull vloggers with 1 Mio followers and 5 Mio views on their popular videos - will get recognized in the public..

If you are fine with "just pictures" and daily diary -  here you find my travel-blogs

I didn't mean vlogging like a video diary or something, just (unedited?) Dashcam footage of the trip.

I must admit biker footage tends to be more interesting as they have a higher viewpoint and can turn their heads to look at something of particular interest, whereas with cars you're stuck facing forward with dashcams, but I still find them interesting, esp. when the route is quite spectacular!
