Can you change the colour in your order if a build date has not yet been assigned?

Think you need to ask the dealer/lease company you have placed the order with.

Yes you can I went from silver to black but I told them in the dealership & they was cool with it.

Dealer told me that it would be a new order but with a quicker lead time due to availability of specific colours

That makes sense. I imagined they build cars by paint shop batches.

I couldn’t say. But I expect it’s possible, I used to work in outbound logistics, not in manufacturing. 
 

I would have thought that they batch cars by colour and market in the build process.
