Which Fuse for hardwire dashcam ?

Hello,

I want to hardwire my Nextbase 322GW Dashcam into our 2003 Toyota Estima using the official Nextbase Hardwire Kit. I want it to power on and off when the ignition is on and off.

Can someone advise which fuse is best to use for this and where the easiest accessible fuse box is located, as I understand that the Estima has more than one fuse box.

Thanks

You can locate fuse boxes in the underside wheel walls of passenger and driver footwells. They use micro fuses so are tiny. Possibly a 5 volt fuse only.

Could use a multimeter set to 20 volts to ascertain ignition live feeds.

This is the fuse box in the driver's side footwell.

Does anyone know which one of these fuses I can use so that the dash cam only comes on/off with the ignition ?

There's not the usual list near it, telling you what fuse is for what !!

I scan read it, and it didn't quite click, it should have a black cover over the fuses

10 amp "Gauge" or 15A "Cig" fuse should be switch live (confirm with a meter) - TBH i usually drop it down the passenger side just for ease of access, micro fuse tap (if you must)

Thanks, I'll have a look at the passenger side and see what that looks like.
