Cost to repair bodywork on a new Yaris ?

So someone has hit and run my Yaris and scratched the bodywork on the left side while it was parked.

I have Toyota smart cover but they will only repair the small scratch on the door and not the dent and scratched on the front side bumper and rear left bulge.

Anyone have a ballpark figure to have this fixed ? Want to see if it's worth an Insurance claim or not.

Never had to make a claim or get a car fixed before so not sure what to do

Hi Tom

I used Revive to repair some stone chips on my Yaris Launch edition. Service and price was very good.

If you send them photos of the damage they will get back to you with a quote. That will give you an idea of the cost and you will be able to compare it with other quotes. https://revive-uk.com

Someone bumped a MINI of mine a few years ago. MINI/BMW quoted £1100 to sort it, I got a local Chips Away + a dent remover he recommended to do it for about £200.

Less than the insurance excess

Firstly there will be an excess

plus you’ll lose your ncd

the excess will prob be more than the cost (guessing under £300) To repair

do it privately

The dent may cost another few hundred

Don’t use your insurance

Depends whether the OP has protected NCD and on what basis the NCD gets affected, as this can vary between insurers.

I hold my hand up to bumping another small car.

The first quote she got was £700.  She settled for another that quoted £350. She played very fair and I added another £100 for taxis or whatever.

The damage was more significant than that.  My Mercedes specialists charged just £650 for an E Class front wing replacement.

Replacing panels and parts can be very expensive especially for luxury vehicles

there doesn’t seem to be significant damage warranting panel replacement here

Sorry to hear that happened to you, same happened to my gf’s brand new car on day 4 after delivery, she was so upset and for a reason 😶. First and best is to wash and clean the car to evaluate the damage, it might just need a smart repair, touch up and polishing, diy job or some companies that provide these services. If needs a bigger job then the most professional company should be appointed to avoid future issues with paint work. In our case we watched a video and went diy way and successfully repaired the damage. There is still some finishing work to be done but will do next spring. Here some pictures and the video we watched.

A decent SMART repairer could fix that easily enough.

OR find your local NON insurance approved body shop & ask for a repair quote - these places get there work due to happy customers recommendations via word of mouth so will do a decent job - the local minicab owners / drivers will know the decent local body shop.

Avoid insurance approved body shops at all costs - these have a never ending stream of work supplied to them via insurance companies & they don't really care how good a job they do as there loads more cars waiting to be worked on.
