Wow, just what I need for peace of mind. Saw a vid. on YouTube but it didn’t give any details of make etc.

Will it work on the Yaris that has a lithium Battery

Valerie, I think you confusing batteries again.  The Lithium Battery will be the big hybrid Battery which is under the back seat, tucked away from our fingers - high voltage. In the new Yaris I believe the 12v Battery is under the back seat too but maybe can be charged up from under the bonnet.  If i wrong on that someone will put me right.

Eek, such a lot to get my head round when I start from zero. Yep, the GreennFlag man told me  there re 2 batteries and that using a charger is for the 12 volt one. What you say makes sense.

Interesting to hear that Toyota has fitted a new Battery under warranty after only 3300 miles. I had done 5000 miles but they would not do mine under warranty. I was told it was in the warranty information that you have to do enough miles to keep the 12V Battery from deteriorating and I had not done enough. Cant find that in any of my documentation!

Interestingly, when I got a previous Kia Niro Plug in hybrid, that had a standard 12v Battery, but the self charging hybrid had a Li-ion Battery and a dashboard button to charge the 12v Battery from the traction battery.

As does the Corolla, only thing is you need the 12v Battery to start the system to allow the traction Battery to charge the 12v Battery. 😅

Sorry I wasn't clear, the Niro's 12v Battery was Li Ion

Kental, just joking. Principle is the same, big guy looks after little one.

The Niro can directly charge the 12v without using the engine.

Toyota hybrids has small traction Battery and this function is not possible. Only some plug in or full ev can do it. 👍🔌
