Hi all - just joined today. I own a 2005 Corolla, great car, solid, comfortable and very reliable. Are more recent models as good - what do people think?

The Corolla is basically the car that has given Toyota it’s world wide reputation for reliability, and subsequent models have been equally as sturdy and reliable. I’ve had several over the years both petrol and diesel, excellent cars.

That's good to know and reassuring - not that I'm looking to replace my Corolla just yet! If I was, would definitely look at a Toyota before anything else. 👍

For longevity and reliability, yes the Corolla/Auris has added to Toyotas good reputation, but the Prius is deserving of a mention too. On the UK market since 1999 (think I right there), engineering of the hybrid system is outstanding and led the world with hybrids, and IMO still do. An exceptional car.

I have friends who just gave away their 2006 Prius, owned from new, with barely a problem. They've replaced it with a 2017 Prius.
