Hi Robert and welcome to the TOC uk.

the hybrid flat Battery problem flared up during the first winter of covid ie 2020-21 when cars inc hybrid cars, were being used less then "normal" due to lockdown. Its still ongoing somewhat. Perhaps you  may want to raise your concern to Toyota UK direct, the more that highlight the concern the better. The Toyota recomendation is for those vehicles not being used regularly you put into Ready mode upwards of 30 minutes. This allows the big hybrid Battery to charge up the little 12v Battery...... and this works. Obviously more driving wouls do it but that is the problem, lack of driving the car especially in cold weather the problem gets worse, batteries do not like cold weather.

TBH the fix is "Use the damned car!"

Assuming the Battery isn't actually faulty and it's not due to some other issue (e.g. dashcams, smart key continuously pinging etc.), the problem will only occur because the car is left sat there doing nothing too often.

Correct, but during the first lockdown many had to stay at home ot just travel short distances to excersies. Remember the two women in Derbyshire I think it was, travelled more then a short distance for a walk and got done. Some are obviously still only travelling where and when necessary.

Hello Robert - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

You've already seen the topic on 12v Battery maintenance, which, aside from using the car regularly and for reasonable length journeys, is the answer.
