Whistling Noise From Engine When Accelerating

Hi,i have a 2004 Avensis Verso which which just passed its umpteenth MOT.

When i got the car back from the garage,i noticed a high pitched whistling noise coming from the engine whilst accelerating.

Doesnt appear to be any difference from before when i am driving but just a little irritating.

Anyone else experience this.

Car is a 7 seater with a 1995cc D4D engine.

What mileage is the car? Likely to be the turbo; nothing too much to worry about, as the mileage increases they do make a whistling sound at times. As long as the oil has been changed frequently with the correct grade, its normal. I had, some years ago, a VW Passat estate with the 1.9PD engine with 150k on it; sounded like a police car at times, but never gave me any issues.

138000 miles on car.Dont know much about cars but a guy mentioned to me it could be the turbo.

Oil changed every year with the recommended type as per maintenance book.

Would only do maybe 5 0r 6 thousand a year.

I will just keep driving until 4 wheels go in opposite directions.

It has been a great servant.

As long as its goes good, keep driving it until the noise stops, then it’s time to get worried 👌
