Roof Bars

Has anyone any experience of how the Toyota accessory roof bars actually attach to the roof rails?  Are they re-branded Thule ones or another make?

I've got some very quiet WhispBars for my current car, one of which will be suitable for the RAV4, so I'd only need one new bar, but the fitting instructions look very fiddly, with fixed (not adjustable) mounting points and quite obtrusive feet left in place when the bars are removed.

Are the Toyota ones adjustable along the length of the roof rails and do they attach and remove in one piece?

There are specific attachment points as illustrated below - so while I don't have experience of the bars themselves I do know that they attach at fixed points ...
