Hi.

i purchased a CV joint ( not complete drive shaft) to replace my broken one , However its the wrong part.

I counted mine has 22 inner splines , contacted two sellers on eBay and came out with two different part numbers , each seller claims to have the correct aftermarket part.

Are these two interchangeable?

43420-52010

43470-59115

Thanks

43470-59115 is yaris verso NCP20, 22 02-05 (with ABS)  - this part number has been superseded

Built - 01/2003

Model - NCP20R-CHPGKW

that narrows it down, there are type A and type B, Type A is 23 internal spline and Type B is 22 internal spline (both with ABS)

Type B - 43470-59115 Superseded by 43470-59465

left and right sides have different number but the cross to the same part in the aftermarket

If you're keeping the car long term, i would go with a Blueprint part - ADT38946B or SKF -VKJA 5108

Edit. As yours is an Auto they tend to run thicker driveshafts than a manual

Mine has 22 splines on the inside of the CV joint.

I am only looking to replace the CV joint and not the whole driveshaft

Did you say left and right CV joints ( not whole shaft) are different?

Thanks a lots for your help

The Above part number(s) are for the outer cv joint, with a 22 internal spline

Left and right have different oem part numbers, But are the SAME part

Sorry to hijack the thread - might need to replace my CV joints as one is clicking.  Any issues with doing this at home or better to get it done at a garage?  Quite easy on my other car, just wondering on any potential issues on the yaris.

The part numbers above are useful too.

part numbers above are for a Verso what is more related to the corolla than the yaris- its also an auto

Crack the hub nut loose,  split the lower ball joint, i would pull the drive shaft, but you can release the clip that holds the joint to the shaft on the car, it can get messy as you need to clean the old grease to find the clip

Hi.

Replacing whole drive shaft is easy , replacing just cv joint is a bit more work , CV has to but cut off with angle grinder.

Have the video if you like , can be done in situ  without removing the  shaft from car

It's 1 clip, and it slides off, no need for any cutting unless it the old clip built into the seal type

CV joint on Yaris does need to be cut off , the clip in inside the CV joint .

Check video below

No need to cut it at all, even if it has a hidden snap ring just hit it off with a dead blow hammer, If you apply pressure the CV forces the snap ring to close up in the groove on the drive shaft

Toyota tell you to use SST - what is just a bearing puller

That would be possible if the whole shaft is on the bench.

I tried hammering it with a mallet it wont budge   , hence i cut it off

I agree , the shaft has to come off to make job easier.

That's the way I've always done it.

I was In touch with a YouTube mechanic who was doing his corolla driveshaft , He stated that he tried to hammer the CV out and failed , so he cut it off.

I am doing the job while driveshaft still on the car. I suppose  if its on the vice a good blow with a mallet  and it will budge

Listed as 2 numbers for left and right but are the same part

RH 43460-59365

LH 43470-59455

SKF - VKJA 3782

https://vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/uk/en/products/VKJA3782

If you look at the instructions, it shows to hit the inner edge of the cage

Many thanks

Its from a parts place called HQspares , I suppose its their own brand , They said its 43470-59115 matching part

I ordered another one from GSF carparts  but it exactly looks same as Hq spares one.

I didn't measure , but can clearly tell my old one is way smaller ,
