2013 Camry SE Hybrid humming under hood while power off

Just got home from 6 week trip.  Car had not been driven during that time. Started car and got a “Steering Locked”

 alert and loud noise and turned the power off.  Husband tried to start it and car wouldn’t do anything and we had trouble “Powering off”.  Finally Powered Off but there is now a hum under the hood but nothing is moving and no noise from 12-v Battery.  Our dealer is closed and we are worried about leaving car in our attached garage over night.  We have read everything in the manual about the Battery.  Can someone please tell us what to do tonight?  Thank you, Karen

Actually the car is ticking under the hood and not humming.  Karen

Could have disconnected 12v Battery.

what did hubby do to “tried to start it”?
