Strange ripple effect on bumper

While washing the car yesterday I noticed a strange ripple defect on the bumper that wasn't there last week. The surface isn't scrathed or broken. The ripples on the blue part are growing. I'm very careful where I park to avoid damage from other cars, but it could be an impact of some kind. Notice how the lines continue through the separate circular piece. Anyone got any ideas ?

That is strange. It looks almost like heat damage or damage caused by a solvent but it also seems to have a definite pattern to it as well.

Hard to see how impact damage would follow a curve like it does.

This seems to show a distorted edge.
