Hi

Owners of 4 x TOYOTA Previas since 1996 (still have two!). Decided to upgrade. I run a 4.4 TDV8 Range Rover that is lovely to drive but not that practical.

So, our new Car !

I am not sure how long in these current times my Registration will Take.

I ordered and paid for the car on the 11th November 2021
Car was shipped within two weeks.
Car Arrived 7th January 2022, Newcastle.
Car was prepared for MOT a week later
Car was delivered to me 5th March

Due to the Shipping companies poor administration (one person at JC Shipping’s Portsmouth Office). I did not get the NOVA letter until last week.

I sent the documents over to DVLA on Tuesday by Special Delivery.

Now I await the V5.

I have a ferry booked to Spain on the 3rd April with our Grandchildren. However, I am not holding my breath as most people are reporting long waits for the V5’s. At least I have another car to travel in. But it’s hardly the point.

If I could avoid JC Shipping in the Future, I will.

Car is a Low Mileage 32,000, full service history for every year, regardless of KM travelled, 13 year old Toyota Vellfire 3.5 V6 Selectable AWD/4WD 8 seater.

When it arrived and even now, I can’t believe the amazing almost showroom condition the vehicle is in.

I am probably going to keep the Japanese radio/nav/DVD setup as I don’t see much point in ruining the great setup it has with Rear DVD screen etc.

Fingers X

A little about me:

I am fairly good with Mechanics and Electrics. In 2004 I fitted A VW Sat Nav system into a VW T5 that VW UK said could not be done, thanks to the tech help from a German car forum. Fixed my Mercedes Car A/C that Mercedes would not even look at and so called, Mercedes Specialists could not (I am a A/C Refrigeration Engineer which helps). Blowing my own trumpet, yes. But just trying to give an Idea of what can be done.

I do a lot of my own car Maintenance. Fixed the A/C on one of our Previas and had to modify a pipe due to the original being declared obsolete by Toyota.

Ive owned more cars than I can remember, Big motorhome fan for 20 years. Had a few almost new, a brand new and now and older one I have restored.

I could go on and bore you, but will leave it there.

Hoping to get some help & advice on here and hopefully be able to help some of you out in return .

Welcome Trevor...superb vehicle..as they all usually are.

I've had my V6 (1mz-fe) 3 litre 4wd Estima for 6 years now...still as good as when I bought it and still so smooth. It's been utterly reliable.

The condition of these imports is usually remarkable given their age.

Mine was 13 years old too when I bought it and was almost showroom condition with 70k miles.

Enjoy...hope you get your V5

I extend my welcome too Trevor.

Sounds like a great vehicle, and a typical import issue!

Regarding the head unit, have you considered searching AliExpress for a Toyota compatible CarPlay device? Cost is around £60 and can be fitted to existing head unit. (Or Android Auto if you don’t use Apple).
